Slow Club - 24th September
Slow Club are a genius two piece from Sheffield and they’re coming back for their second ever gig in Birmingham on the 24th September at the 444 Club.

The first time I saw them, it was supporting Au Revoir Simone and they’d had a really bad day but managed to produce a wonderfully intimate set of music. You can expect nice twee songs with pop melodies and backs of chairs and botles of water as precussion. This video has the best sit down dancing in it.
Also - Gosh, it’s been quiet on here, probably due to the relationship between real life busy and internet busy, I should use an equation for this, I’ve not done that in ages.
Internet busy + Real life busy = 1
There, as we see as real life busy increases, internet busy decreases. I’ll be nudging it back the other way soon.

Not been to the sanctuary in ages, am I remembering correctly that the dragon bar is one of the small rooms upstairs? Seem to remember one of the club nights there a few years ago used it for bands once they’d realised the sound was terrible in the room which is now the Barfly.
There’s a Slow Club session on the Marc Riley show on 6music tomorrow (was originally supposed to be Thursday but its been swapped with someone else)
Really looking forward to the gig, they were great at Latitude.

yeah the dragon bar is one of the smaller rooms, never seen a band there before. i’m interested to see what the barfly people have done to the sanctuary as a whole as they now run the whole building and have apparently refurbished it all. i’m guessing it will be like when the flapper closed and reopened looking almost exactly the same!
