Cloudberry Records
With the Dollar/Pound exchange rate as it is at the moment, it’s a good time to buy things from the US – and I have to mention a good record label called Cloudberry Records, which puts out mighty fine indiepop.
Cloudberry lovingly put together 3” CD-R releases of indiepop bands from the US, Sweden, and as close as field as Derby and Stoke, for just $5 including postage. The upshot of the recent exchange rate is that I’ve just bought 10 singles for 24 quid – including things by The Deirdres, a brilliant Swedish band who I saw at Emmaboda called Hari and Aino, and Glasgow’s Felt Tips.
There’s a Cloudberry Records Thread on Anorak if you want some recommendations, although if you’re anything like me you’ll go for the things the things with pretty covers or the word “Sweden” in a song title.
You should probably get the fanzine too while you’re there, it has an interview with Horowitz.
